Now, more than ever, we are called to defend our unity as Catholic Gentlemen and as Knights of Columbus. As certain sectors of our society today have chosen to try to divide and conquer us and our religious beliefs, we must maintain our strength and unite as brothers in Christ. The world depends on our charities and our Fraternity depends on our Unity to accomplish this. As the world turns its eyes from the hungry, the needy, the unborn and the elderly we as brothers in Christ turn our efforts to those who need us most. The very ones that are neglected and forgotten every day. Our strengths come not only from each other, but also from our families. Our wives and children are the foundation of our families and the strength that fortifies our beliefs as Knights of Columbus and unite us as one voice, one organization, under God. The late Pope John Paul II once said, “As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.” Our future depends on our ability as Knights of Columbus to be united to defend and nurture family values in each of our communities around the world. |
